I went to school for marketing. Even though I had a professor who read some of my writing and suggested I minor in English. I was like and do what, lady? I didn’t know any writers. Luckily I got back to writing and even more luckily, my marketing degree would aid me in my writing career.
This year marks the four year anniversary of HONEY CHILE, my media and production company dedicated to telling stories by, for, or about Black women 40+, or Honeys as we like to call them.
And from day one, I thought about how to position the production company, how to build audience and how to build a company that wouldn’t be dependent just on Hollywood.
I talk more about this in a new episode of IT’S GOOD OVER HERE. Check it out below or wherever you listen to podcasts.
And if you want to hear even more about how you can build your production company or think about your career more entrepreneurially, be sure to register for our first Sweet Build Salon.
